Global Policy Dialogue on AI for Human Rights Brings Together Industry Leaders and Ethicists
Geneva, March 20th – A distinguished panel of AI experts and ethicists convened at the recent Global Policy Dialogue on AI for Human Rights to discuss the future of artificial intelligence in business, standardisation, and human rights. The event featured thought leaders from SAP, AI Commons, and the newly incorporated TechEthics, which made its first public panel appearance to highlight its work in AI for peace, democracy, and social good.
As AI continues to reshape industries and societies, panellists explored pressing challenges and opportunities to explore technology’s impact on business and human rights and discussed how we can ensure that technology serves humanity in an ethical and transparent manner. Discussions emphasised the importance of responsible AI governance, explainability frameworks, and mechanisms for preventing and addressing human rights violations.
Sophia Devlin, CEO of TechEthics, reiterated the company’s commitment to leveraging AI for social impact. “Technology should be a force for good, and that starts with ethical innovation. Through collaboration with experts across disciplines, we aim to create scalable, customisable solutions that address conflict, misinformation, and societal polarisation. By integrating expertise from technology, social sciences, and governance, we can create AI-driven solutions that support peacebuilding, resolve conflicts, and strengthen democratic resilience”.
The dialogue provided a collaborative platform for organisations to share best practices and advocate for global standards in AI development. Key takeaways from the discussion included the need for interdisciplinary co-operation, regulatory clarity, and increased investment in AI systems that promote social resilience.
Following this impactful event, TechEthics will continue working alongside policymakers, businesses, and civil society organisations to develop scalable, customisable AI tools designed to mitigate misinformation, enhance civic engagement, and safeguard human rights in digital spaces.
